Healthy Fruit Popsicles

There is nothing better than a refreshing popsicle in the summer time. Lately it feels like it’s so hot that I fear my face might actually melt off. Let’s be honest, sometimes a cold beverage is not good enough in the summer and you require something colder. In this summer heat, I doubt anyone will pass up on a popsicle. That’s why I am sharing my favorite healthy fresh fruit popsicle. You can easily make these with any fruit from your fridge and it’s a perfect snack to get another serving of fruits and veggies.

Lately my child has been showing lots of interest in cooking and he loves it when I find things to make with him. I won’t like I hate drinking plain water. In the clinic as a provider, I preach that how hydration is important and drink at least 8-10 glasses per day. I suck at implementing the guidance I give to others. Last month after trying so many things, I think I have found my niche to get that at least 1-2 liters per day with help of water enhancer drops made from stevia. It is quick and easy way to flavor your water.

Last week in afternoon we were bored and decided to do a fun activity of making Fruit Popsicle. At times I do give my child water with enhancer drops instead of juice. Didn’t I say before how cooking is completely based on trial and error process LOL. Well that day we tired “water enhancer drops” in our Popsicles along with fruit and that trial was a success! I highly recommend adding the drops over processed sugary juices. You can practically make this with any fruits and available water enhancer flavors. It is very simple process, I will post recipe for orange one. Basically follow the same process with other fruits.

Ingredients

1 popsicle mold

1-2 medium oranges (sliced)

32oz water

6-12 drops of orange water enhancer made with stevia

Method

Slice oranges and cut them in quarters. Put few slices in each Popsicle mold. You can add any fruit you like or available in the house at the time. I would fill the molds with water until it reaches about ½ inch from the top. Put 1-2 drops of water enhancer in each mold and mix it with a stick. Place the top of your Popsicle stick mold on. Now place in freezer until frozen. Approximately 5-6 hours or overnight.

You can add any fruits and any flavored water enhancer you like and customize your own Popsicle. So far we have tried multiple variations and love all of them!
