Mojito Cocktail or Mocktail

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I am sharing my all-time favorite mojito recipe! When it comes to cocktail recipes I am a pretty simple girl. I definitely gravitate towards easy to make, less sugary cocktails with few ingredients. Now, I am not a big drinker, but when I do have a cocktail, I want it to be the best! I want it to have the highest quality liquor, freshest ingredients and amazing taste – like todays mojito recipe! I will be sharing virgin recipe for kids and moms to be or anyone that just loves a delicious refreshing drink without alcohol. This mojito recipe is incredibly refreshing AND simple to make. But one of my favorite things about this drink? It is not a super sweet or sugar drinks that leaves you feeling lethargic after.

A classic mojito is made from 5 simple ingredients – white rum, sugar, lime juice, mint leaves and club soda. Like I said before, I don’t like my drinks overly sweet, so I swap honey for the sugar. Best mojito needs white or light rums to get the subtle flavor and we can’t forget fresh mint and limes!

Mojito Mocktail Method –

Add the mint leaves, honey, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler to gently muddle the link leaves, but don’t muddle too much as you don’t want to break the leaves up. Add 1 cup of ice. Cover the cocktail shaker and shake for 15 seconds until chilled and strain into a tall glass with filled ice. Top it with sprite as well as extra mint or lime wedges for garnish, if desired.
