Infused water

Who here drinks the required amount of water per day? Over the years of working twelve hour hectic shifts, water was my last priority, even though it should’ve been the first on my daily list! You won’t believe it but at times I didn’t even get more than 500ml of water in the whole day. I am always trying to find new ways to get myself to drink at least 8 glasses per day, but it’s always hit or miss. To be honest, I never liked the taste of water or carbonated drinks!

Over the years I have tried flavored drops, sparkling water, lemon water, and infused water. So far I like the fruit-veggie infused water the best ! You get all of the benefits of drinking water, by far the best thirst quenching and hydrating beverage. You also get the amazing flavors without any added sugars or extra calories. So instead of buying expensive infused water at whole foods, you can easily MAKE YOUR OWN with fruits and veggies at home. It is easy and imagine how much money you will be saving!

To make infuse water:

Fill a mason or any jar of choice with water and choice of fruits and veggies. Leave it for at least 4 hours. Infused water is best 4 hours after you make it. I actually infuse it overnight and drink it all the next day. Enjoy refreshing water in this hot summer weather!

  • Make sure to wash all your produce well before infusing them, even if you are going to peel them.
  • Cut the fruits and veggies so the flavors infuse into the water more quickly.
  • You can add additional water to refill your drink as you desire.
  • Keep your infused water in the fridge since fruits and herbs will spoil if water gets too hot.
